iJustine a “Twitter tracker”

I had the wonderful opportunity of hanging out for a bit with Justine while she is staying in San Francisco. We met at the new JTV offices and I got to meet the brains behind the phenomenon. I was amazed at the size of the new office. Obviously, I didn’t know what to expect, but it looks like a full business operation there, with a good staff of fun people and white boards all over the place with plans for the future.
Justine was in SF to see some friends, but she also had a lot of meeting scheduled and events to attend. Because of the events and her down time in the JTV office, she was streaming.
She also let the fans in on a little secret she has using Twitter. If you have a Twitter account, you can “track” anyone on the service that uses whatever key words you choose. iJustine for example has a track set up for anyone that mentions Steve Jobs, and anyone that says iJustine. Now this is a cool feature of Twitter since before, you had no other way of finding people on the service that you otherwise would not have known. She mentioned this is how she has been able to add a new subset of friends because they have the same interests as her.
To use the track feature, go into Twitter and type “TRACK [whatever you want tracked]” and it’s that easy. Next time someone on the system uses the keyword, you will get a message. This is really cool if you ask me and I don’t know why I missed this update to Twitter.

I have that configured for my name (adamjackson) and my site, dailytechtalk
I’m thinking of configuring it for “macworld parties” too because I host parties each year at macwordl.
