iJustine MTV Video Music Award Twitter Correspondent

Justine Ezarik, News, ijustine 2 Comments »

One of the biggest surprises at this Sunday’s Video Music Awards will surround the just-announced “Twitter correspondent” iJustine, the Internet celebrity who has made a name for herself as a video blogger and Twitter aficionado. In her latest dispatch, she describes the details of her role, which will surround her observing tweets about the show and real time responses from stars on the red carpet about arrivals and fashion. As she explains in her video blog, she’ll be tracking tweets that are tagged “#vma” and hosting a number of Twitter-based segments during the official preshow, which kicks off at 8 o’clock on Sunday night live from outside Radio City Music Hall. So the Twitter savvy should point their messages @ijustine as well as @mtvnews to comment about the most hotly-anticipated performances, the craziest outfits and the favorites to win the coveted Moonmen. Just tag all VMA-related tweets “#vma” or “#ijvma” to get in on iJustine’s action!

The official Twitter correspondent (also known as Justine Ezarik) joins the preshow team that also includes “New Moon” star Ashley Greene, who will serve as the official fashion correspondent for the show (a role filled by Taylor Swift at last year’s VMAs). It all starts Sunday at 8 o’clock and will feature arrivals and interviews from all the night’s biggest stars.

Justine won’t just be reading off your tweets, she’ll be analyzing trends that arise on Twitter as the celebrities make their way onto the carpet. “Basically, I’m going to be making sense of all of the tweets that are coming in about the VMAs. I’m going to be the visualizer of it,” she told MTV News. “It’s going to be pulling in hash tags and pulling in different data about celebs and what everyone is saying, so I’m gonna kind of explain to people what the Twitter reaction is.”

iJustine, for those who aren’t familiar with her, is an Internet comedienne who has more than 620,000 Twitter followers. And as a sort of social-networking expert, she has some idea of what people will probably be talking about on Sunday. “It’s like a whole different crowd on Twitter, so I’m really not sure who is going to be the most talked about,” she said. “I’m sure whatever Britney Spears does [if she comes to the show] is going to be probably a huge Twitter effect, so I’m definitely looking forward to see what people are saying about her. And of course, everyone loves Taylor Swift as well. Those would be my two picks.”

Intel Insiders Program Year One

Justine Ezarik, News, ijustine 1 Comment »

Justine was mentioned in a recent 360 Digital Influence article written by Christine Ngo.I can’t believe it’s already been a year sonce Intel launched this advisory board. Seems like only a couple months ago.

A year ago this month, Intel (an Ogilvy PR client) launched the Intel Insiders, a social media advisory board of 10 highly engaged, influential thought leaders in technology and new media.

iJustine and Virgin Airlines

Justine Ezarik, News, ijustine, video No Comments »

Justine was part of the special event in San Francisco to fly the first Virgin America plane into Orange County. Beside having a good time she was able to bump elbows again with M.C. Hammer and Richard Branson. The news of the flight was big enough for Virgin Airlines in an industry that seems to be in a tailspin with the economy.

iJustine had several photos taken during the event and one was used by the Los Angeles Times in an article they published about WiFi on planes.

The Twitterists just ran an article on iJustine.

Blondes really do have more fans

Justine Ezarik describes herself as a ‘new media chick and Apple fan girl’ and is one of the web’s most famous lifecasters, a recent term evolved to define just why and how people become social media whores, broadcasting themselves over the internet.

But the blonde bimbo image that Justine Ezarik presents is, of course, just proof of her intelligence and net strategy. She knows the web, can video edit and runs her own successful blog, vlog and social media profiles - she’s a geek’s wet dream.

Viximo “Life of the Party” $5000 Contest for Best iPhone App

Justine Ezarik, News, iPhone No Comments »

Viximo markets a development tool kit based on the XML format to create apps for the iPhone and iPod touch. It’s so simple, the company claims, that anyone who knows how to write a Web page can create an app. VixML says its new SDK gives designers, animators and developers a fast, easy way to create animated and interactive iPhone and iPod touch content.

The entries will be judged in three areas: One, originality, inventiveness and interactivity; Two, creative use of the VixML content development toolkit; and Three, “overall awesomeness,” however Viximo defines the term.

The judges are: Gizmodo’s John Mahoney; graphic/Web designer,  Justine Ezarik; carbonmade.com’s Spencer Fry; Viximo’s Jon Klein, the developer of VixML; Jeff Gamet, Managing Editor of the Mac Observer and iPodObserver.com and Robert Palmer, editing of TUAW (the unofficial mac weblog).

A new book entitled “Missing Clicks: The 7 Disciplines of Online Marketing.” co-authored by giovanni gallucci is in the works. The book will be focused around seven critical online marketing activities that every marketer and public relations professional should be familiar with. There is a skeleton website up for the book now at missingclicks.com. iJustine (Justine Ezarik) is featured in the graphics on the site right now because, as part of the book writing process, they will be interviewing notable internet pop icons, successful online marketers, and well-known interactive public relations professionals. These video interviews will be posted on the website. They will use the content from the interviews as well as commentary from people that leave their remarks on the site has the primary source of contents for the book. Much of the content in the book will be created via crowdsourcing.

iJustine asks for help from the internet

Justine Ezarik, News, video No Comments »

Justine’s growth has amazed me over the past few months. From humble beginnings making silly videos on YouTube she is now rising above the other imitators and has become the spokesperson for Mozy Backup, been featured in an AT&T web series called Lost in America, and involved in the web series In2ition.

One of the things put in place a while back was a newsletter. She hasn’t used it very much, in fact I think I have only received two of these newsletters in a few months. Which is good because the last thing I want is to create a filter for iJustine spam. Sending out emails to her fans is a great idea. Sure she send Twitter updates like 3-5 times a day and she posts information on her website but getting an email from iJustine is special even if it’s sent to 20,000 other people.

Justine is asking everyone to send in suggestions for new videos that you want to see. I don’t think Justine will be putting a shoe on her head but you never know. Hearing Justine talking with a man’s voice is very disturbing. So you may not want to watch this clip with iJustine discussing the new project, whatever you do don’t call it a “show”.

iJustine featured on Adrants

News, ijustine No Comments »

I found this iJustine treat online this morning. It’s a featured article on Adrants, a great website that talks about all types of marketing and advertising.

Surprisingly, there hasn’t been much press on AT&T’s Lost in America, a Wal-Marting Across America-style (sorry, Justine) travel blog program fronted by Justine Ezarik, a.k.a iJustine and Karen Nguyen. For a few months now, the pair have been “lost” in America and exploring Alaska, Austin and Chicago.

iJustine is a Social Media Influencer

Justine Ezarik, News No Comments »

Over at Crowd People an article was written talking about the influence made by the dominate parties in social media. Of course iJustine is at the top of the list. Why wouldn’t she be? Justine has built an entire brand awareness of herself over the past few years and really broken into some wonderful things because she puts herself “out there” so much.

http://uploads.screenshot-program.com/upl6720384815.jpg

Justine Ezarik.

My first influencer, who is not in anyway a major marketing expert, but more a growing brand is Justine Ezarik. She is young, energetic blonde, that started off lifecasting herself and every moment by one of her many cameras, be it in coffee shops, at work as a designer - video editor, or even through a camera in her car - she started that way and grew herself into an internet phenomena. Now, she is one the growing ‘brands’ and from what I have seen, doing many Internet and TV shows, traveling all over, and all because she wanted to create herself as a brand. She engages an audience, keep them interested, and returning often. And speaks @ many social media events across the States.

Nicholas, I couldn’t agree with you more. Justine is a muse for many people, me included. I never would have started this blog if I wasn’t impressed with Justine’s influence over the masses and known that she was a person to keep my eye on. I never put much weight into the social media world until I saw how much opportunity there was when you put yourself out to the masses. Thanks for writing about her in your article.

How has Justine inluenced your online life? Leave a comment with a short explination.
