What’s next? Will the real Steve Jobs please stand up?
Justine Ezarik, News, iPhone, ijustine, ijustine.tv, justin.tv, lifecast 3 Comments »Justine has been getting media attention unlike she has ever experienced over the past week and it is well deserved. From Fox News to CNN to Yahoo, she has gotten so much exposure that my non geeky friends now know who iJustine is. Everyone that knows Justine on some level understands that she has a ‘crush’ on the Apple CEO Steve Jobs. She keeps a framed picture of Steve on her work desk, covets anything he creates and follows all things Apple.
Recently The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs has been writing about Justine. The news was broke a while back that this blog is actually maintained by Daniel Lyons, a technology writer for Forbes and has become an embedded part of Forbes.com now. Though the satirical nature of the blog is interesting, is there a reason why the writer needs to be so condescending to someone who absolutely adores your alter-ego? It was funny when you reposted the video and poked fun at Justine. But the second post was just a bit rude. Don’t get me wrong, I understand the humor. I get that this is a spoof of what Steve Jobs would be thinking. But when you have a TRUE fan that really is genuine in her love about the products and visions of you and your company, would it hurt to say something even semi decent in return?
Maybe the real Steve Jobs will stand up and have his assistant’s assistant contact Justine. Maybe some executive at Apple (aapl) that has for sure seen the media around Justine would reach out and say a nice something. Let’s be realistic. Justine has been streaming her life for about 80 days now either talking about Apple, the iPhone, her iPod or Steve Jobs daily. That’s not going into all the time before Justin.tv that she was attending MacWorld events and working on Mac related podcasts and videos.
Justine has gone through all of this publicity like a champ. The clips I’ve seen and news I’ve read expresses nothing but a humble Justine Ezarik that “Justs loves everything technology”. She never meant anything negative about Apple Inc. or the iPhone. She loves the 4.8 ounces of technological genius. It would be a dark day for the internet if iJustine said something bad about Apple or her not so secret crush on Steve Jobs.
I figured I would bring this topic up. I know Justine is too professional to do so. The extra attention and buzz hasn’t hurt the stories momentum, but I like to see things mentioned in a positive light regardless of the humor. If I’m being to sensitive, let me know.
