Justine in Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

I just finished a great article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette talking about the ever growing list of live video streams online and webcams.

Webcams are everywhere, delivering day-and-night video and images to our desktops, from the world’s busiest places to the remotest corners of the earth.

Here is an excerpt from the full article.

Justine Ezarik, a 24-year-old Web designer and video editor in Carnegie, has become somewhat famous as a so-called lifecaster, someone who wears or carries video cameras as she goes through her daily routine, allowing the world to see 24/7.

Ms. Ezarik garnered national attention when she had her own channel on the lifecasting Web site Justin.tv. She wore a camera for six months on a near 24-hour-a-day basis, letting viewers watch her at home, work, sleeping, playing World of Warcraft, broadcasting from conventions or going to meetings.

ROFL iJustine

Justine has been announced as a guest at the upcoming ROFLCon . If you mix up a bunch of super famous internet memes like our Justine, some brainy academics, a big audience, dump them in Cambridge, MA and you’ve got ROFLCon.

The conference is slated for April 25th and 26th of 2008.

ROFLCon Header

It’s a group dissection of internet culture. What makes it work, why it works, how it works. We’ll talk about where internet culture has been and where we think it’s going.

Then, there’ll be parties. A music show, with memes performing their work live. And then a big blowout party at the end, with everyone dancing and rocking out.

Needless to say, this might be the most important gathering since the fall of the tower of Babel.

If you are in the area you are encouraged to attend. Though the registration is currently closed, they should have some additional passes available soon. Contact the group through their website here.

5 Random Facts - Commentary

How great are these two. I know this is the iJustine Fan Site but when Brookers gets thrown into the mix, these two make me LOL, ROFL, and every other acronym known. If you follow the YouTube scene you have no doubt seen numerous videos being posted called “5 random facts“. This is where people are posting videos giving little known tid bits of information to their viewers.

Of course this is something that iJustine and Brookers had to make a parady about. I mean, really, making fun of stuff like this can not be passed up. In this video iJustine and Brookers give a commentary of their 5 random facts while drinking Corona out of IBC rootbeer bottles. (OK I made that part up.) But the video is awesome!

Leave iJustine alone!

Recently there have been things posted online in various formats that bash iJustine in some way or another. I’m not talking about the random person that makes a silly post in their blog or video about Justine. I am talking about the people (One lame duck in particular) that seem to use any form of media available to talk trash about o’ so sweet Justine and her friends. Even though you try to hide its traces on the internet, you can’t. My typical reaction was anger then complete disgust. I can’t understand why someone would feel it necessary to go on what would appear to be a marketing campaign talking trash about a person that has done nothing but support the exact media that you are using to slander her.

If I could reach through my internet connection and knock off that silly little hat and fake gold chain I would gladly do it. But that kind of reaction would be a waste of energy on my part. If your ratings are so bad that you have to attempt to boost them by making iJustine look like a bad person, so be it. You’re a loser. Yes you! You know who you are.

OK. I feel better now. Thanks for letting me vent.

What are you talking about?!?

People that post their vblog on YouTube are useful for hours of entertainment. Sometimes instead of watching the last 3 seasons of LOST, I sit in front of my computer and watch videos from these people until I pass out on my desk.

I have found that some vbloggers are very good and post videos that have a distinct topic and they don’t tend to ramble on too much. The last thing I want to watch is another person with ADD posting a video and going off on a million tangents. Well, if they are entertaining about it I can watch.

I got a treat when I was going through a list of vblogs from YouTube and heard iJustine’s name mentioned. Watch below. If you want to skip to the comment go to 5:50.
