In2ition and iJustine

Feature, Justine Ezarik, ijustine, video 1 Comment »

iJustine was kidnapped and held hostage. At first I thought this was just another skit by Justine but it is much more than that. In2ition is an online series with a new episode every Wednesday. If you have a need to be in videos online you can submit a video to the Take180 peeps and have a chance to be featured online. At the end of the submission period, there will be five finalists who will be awarded prizes. Five finalists will be selected by the event producers.

Besides being a well produced series online, In2ition is granting the winning submission a Grand Prize.

The winning submitter, based on your votes for the finalists, will receive the Grand Prize, a Trip to Los Angeles, including airfare, hotel and transportation, and a $500 shopping spree at the Apple Store with iJustine.

Yes…that is a GRAND PRIZE indeed!

Super Geek Love for iJustine

Feature, Justine Ezarik, News, justin.tv No Comments »

You can’t get ANY geekier than MIT. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology attracts geeks from all around the world and seems to breed them from beakers. No surprise then that the Technology Review published by MIT wrote a nice long piece on iJustine.

http://uploads.screenshot-program.com/upl0947905765.jpg

By now, Justine has reduced her lifecasting to a few hours per week. (Justin.tv is now leaning away from it, too: “In our experience, there are less broadcaster-intensive uses–cases that produce more interesting content for the end user,” Justin.tv CEO Michael Seibel obscurely explained in an e-mail.) In part, this is simply because Ezarik needs Justin.tv less than she once did: she has 50,000 MySpace friends, she long ago reached her limit of 5,000 Facebook friends, and she has about 23,000 Twitter followers. Two hours ago she informed them that she was “LOL”ing. Twenty hours earlier, she was eating a “really good cookie.”

The entire article is about 4 pages long and goes into a lot of detail about our favorite internet celebrity from her start to the present day.

iJustine VS. Julia Allison

Feature 3 Comments »

I was very excited to get my recent copy of WIRED magazine delivered to the house. It makes for some great reading about whats new, cool and trendy in the technology world. WIRED has always impressed me with their articles and insight about global issues and emerging technology. I’m also a fan of WIRED since they hosted the Sexiest Geek contest and Justine was in the top 10. One the cover of the August issue was a picture of a lady with the subheading of ‘How to get internet famous’. Innocent enough until I read the lengthy piece about Julia Allison which made her sound like the most influential females of the internet.

I have never heard of Julia Allison before so I did some quick research and started looking for information about how “famous” she really was. The article made reference to her online profiles and again made it seem like she was the talk of the internet. I had to investigate this further. I was had pressed to believe that Julia Allison was more popular than iJustine but I had to know for sure.

iJustine VS. Julia Allison Websites

Doing a quick search on Alexa profiling the two sites made it initially clear that iJusitine gets a whole hell of a lot more traffic than Julia Allison. Sure Julia gets some decent traffic but look at those gaps in the graph. iJustine is still reaching more people than Julia on a regular basis.

But that’s just their websites. I guess Julia could just have a bad PR person driving traffic to the site so I wanted to get some other metrics to see who was really more internet famous.

Julia Allison VS iJustine - on YouTube

One of the things WIRED made mention of was Julias exposure on YouTube. I’ll let you judge for yourself.

So I ran the search to identify her top videos by “Most Viewed”. As you can see, her #1 video on YouTube was uploaded a year ago and only has 225,638 views. That being said, Julia only has a total of 11 videos. Hell, thats more views than I have on any of my videos but I know for a fact iJustine can blow this out of the water so I did the same search for her.

Yes, it’s clear. iJustine owns this challenge with a total of 161 videos uploaded and the top video (the iPhone bill of course.) has over a MILLION views. Based on the search iJusine’s worst video still has a ton more views than Julia’s. Score iJustine: 2 - Julia Allison: 0

On page 111 of the WIRED Magazine issue, there is a blod section saying ‘…with every Twitter update adding dimension to her character”. Really?!? That’s funny WIRED because your information about her must be flawed. Using Twitterholic it’s very apparent that iJustine is light years ahead of Julia there too. Coming in at #14 on the list of the top 100 Twitter peeps and your famous internet cover girl comes in at….wait, she’s not even on the list. Funny thing is that Julia Allison only has 2,597 followers to iJustine’s 20,894. Bummer for Julia.

It’s actually not worth the effort to give more examples of this failure. I’m not trying to bring down Julia Allison, more power to her. Many of us wish to be an internet celebrity and we want to know who is in the scene. I wanted to bring to light who really was more famous on the internet. Maybe WIRED will have iJustine on their cover someday? Let’s be honest. iJustine would make for a much better article anyway. I guess I can only hope. But if that day comes, I’ll be framing it and putting it on my desk after iJustine is so gracious to autograph it. :)

iJustine is Superhuman

Feature, Uncategorized 2 Comments »

We all know iJustine is not your average geek. Besides being a superstar in everyday life, she has the ability to be all over the internet as if by magic. Between video shoots and attending new media events iJustine really has an alter identity and I don’t mean when she’s playing Hanna Montana or eJustine. iJustine uses her normal activities to cover her crime fighting persona the same way Clark Kent does for Superman.

Super iJustine

Because Super iJustine can move faster than a high-speed internet connection no one has been able to get a photograph of her in action. Witnesses to her good deeds on the internet have met with police sketch artists to make this drawing of what iJustine looks like while fighting crime. The witnesses also went into details of her super powers. It seems that Super iJustine’s speed allows her to defy gravity and fly as well as break the time/space barrier and travel through solid objects in short bursts. If any of you have seen iJustine in public sending txt messages on her iPhone then you know what I’m talking about. Here’s the break down on her costume.

The Necklace

The necklace was a gift from her parents when she was young. Super iJustine wasn’t sent to earth on a shuttle escaping a dieing planet, she was born here on earth by super human parents who crash landed here 40 years ago.  (Of course iMom and iDad are super human, what were you thinking?) The necklace is made from alien materials from the planet T1 far away from our galaxy. Super iJustine’s parents keep the rare metal in their farm house in Pennsylvania which was salvaged from the ship they crash landed in. iJustine wears it as a reminder of her past.

The Arms

Her right arm is covered by an arm sock you have probably seen her wearing on a normal basis. These arm socks are made  by a special kevlar and silk weave that can withstand heat and deflect bullets. As I mentioned Super iJustine can move extremely fast and she has been seen deflecting machine guns with this one arm.

Her left arm is gloved by a cybernetic alloy using nano technology allowing her to crush N00bs like flies. It also protects her nails from breaking while doing the crushing.

The Belt

Super iJustine’s belt is fashionable and deadly. Each link is crafted to hold a multitude of gadgets like her iPhone which she has modified by adding only the best iPhone apps. and appears to also keep extra lip gloss.

The Shoes

iJustine wanted to have shoes that looked dressy and were still effective in fighting crime. The 3″ heels are reinforced to take a strong impact for the times Super iJustine needs to kick down a door and coated in a polymer that aids in climbing.

The Suit

We’ve seen a lot of this suit in recent news and probably hadn’t noticed. The suit is made by Speedo in the same factory as the Speedo LZR which is used by the 2008 Olympic swimmers. The suite is fused with the same materials found in her arm sock.

Super iJustine will save the internet!
